From Friday, tourists arriving at Hongqiao Railway Station by train and taking the Metro won't have to go through additional luggage checks at the Metro.
The measure will be introduced during the second China International Import Expo to provide convenience for tourists to Shanghai, the government said on Thursday.
Police at the railway station said passengers getting off the train will be subject to selective luggage checks at six exits during the expo but, unlike last year, won't have to have their luggage checked again if they take the Metro at the station.
