Autumn flowers are in full bloom at Chenshan Botanical Garden in Songjiang District, which will offer half-price admission between November 5 and 20 for the second China International Import Expo.

Parks across Shanghai will host a variety of activities in November, allowing people to appreciate the city's autumn splendor, the Shanghai Greenery and Public Sanitation Bureau said.

A chrysanthemum-themed fashion show and a health run will be held at Shanghai Gongqing Forest Park in Yangpu District on November 4 and 16 respectively, as part of the ongoing 13th China Chrysanthemum Exhibition.

Huju, Huaiju and Yueju Opera performances will be staged at the park on November 2.

An art exhibition featuring 60 chrysanthemum paintings and calligraphy works, together with porcelain carving and flower arrangement works will run through November 26.

A total exhibition area of around 70,000 square meters will feature chrysanthemum, bonsai and flower arrangements in 11 display areas at the park.

At Xujiahui Park in Xuhui District, concerts of percussion, brass and folk music will be held from 3pm to 4pm every Saturday through November.

Visitors to the Shanghai Botanical Garden in Xuhui are invited to make paper-cut lanterns on November 24, while a bonsai exhibition featuring 200 bonsai works will be held from mid-to late November at the garden.

An extinct African animal exhibition will run through November 20 at the Shanghai Zoo in Changning District.

The Chenshan Botanical Garden in Songjiang District will offer half-price admission between November 5 and 20 for the second China International Import Expo.

An autumn flower exhibition is held at the Binjiang Forest Park in the Pudong New Area, and a tangerine-picking event will run through November 10 at the park, which is home to more than 2,000 tangerine trees.

This year's tangerine production at the park is about 35,000 kilograms, down 50 percent from last year due to climate influence, but the fruit is sweet and juicy as ever, the bureau said.

Picking events for vegetables such as sweet potato and radish will also be organized at the park.

An orienteering challenge competition will be held at Daning Park in Jing'an District on November 9. A health run will take place at the same park on November 16 to mark World Diabetes Day.

A chrysanthemum exhibition will kick off on November 9 at Yichuan Park in Putuo District, and will run through November 30. About 15,000 potted chrysanthemum, including some rare varieties, will be exhibited. Huaiju, Peking, Yueju and Huju opera performances will also be staged.

A paper-cutting exhibition and a Jiangnan classic garden exhibition will be held at Zuibaichi Park in Songjiang District in November and December.
