First train for Metro Line 18 arrives

The first train for Metro Line 18, currently under construction, arrived in the city on Sunday.

The 6-carriage train, designed and manufactured by CRRC Corporation Limited, is the first of 50 that will run on Line 18. It can automatically match the screen doors at Metro stations when it approaches the platform.

Using automated trains, Line 18 will have more space for passengers as the vehicles require a relatively small space for a driver. The train also has an intelligent lighting system which will automatically adjust colors inside the carriages according to time of day and season.

Each carriage will have one wireless phone charger.
