Exchange platform with Lithuania
The Lithuanian University of Health Sciences (LSMU) and Shanghai Jiao Tong University's Health Management and Service Innovation Center signed a memorandum of understanding on Wednesday at the China International Import Expo.
"By signing this MoU, we declare our intention to build a platform between our two countries to facilitate exchange of professional knowledge and best practice through research and training, as well as exchange of faculty members and students," said Remigijus Zaliunas, LSMU's rector.
In April, 10 of Lithuania's universities were approved by China's Ministry of Education, a milestone for bilateral cooperation in education, said Zaliunas. "The academic programs were recognized as compliant with the needs of Chinese students and China's labor market."
LSMU, one of the oldest universities of biomedical sciences in Central and Eastern Europe as well as one of the largest, has three teaching hospitals in its campuses, serving over 1.5 million patients every year.
