Mayor Ying meets Sanofi CEO

Shanghai Mayor Ying Yong met Paul Hudson, chief executive officer of France-headquartered multinational company Sanofi, in Shanghai on Wednesday.

Ying welcomed Hudson to attend the 2nd China International Import Expo and the 2019 Shanghai City Promotion Conference.

As the largest economic center in China, Shanghai has kept improving the health of its residents and has listed biomedicine as a strategic new industry, Ying said.

“We welcome healthcare enterprises from home and abroad to expand investment in Shanghai and expand in the China market with the China International Import Expo,” the mayor added.

Calling CIIE an amazing international event, Hudson said he was impressed with the expo’s scale and effectiveness. Sanofi is one of the first multinational pharmaceutical firms to enter China, he noted, adding that the company will do its best to actively participate in the healthy China strategy, increase research and development, and achieve common development.

Sanofi is a Fortune 500 company with all its Asian and China headquarters, and R&D headquarters for the Asia Pacific region in Shanghai.
