Warm week follows cold weekend
The weather will get warm again after the coldest weekend of this autumn with the highest temperature returning to 20 degrees Celsius, forecasters said.
Sunday morning was cold morning with the low in suburban areas between 5 and 9 degrees Celsius. Chongming and Qingpu were the coldest districts with the low less than 6 degrees Celsius. Sunshine soon brought some daytime warmth and the mercury soon bounced up to low twenties, making the morning and afternoon like two different seasons.
There will be some light pollution on Monday with PM2.5 particles being the main pollutant, with sunny skies and a high of 22 degrees: good for residents to do their Singles' Day shopping.
Tuesday and Wednesday will be mainly cloudy but sunshine will be back on Thursday with highs under 20 degrees. The 21-degree high is expected to return at the weekend.
Wednesday has a chance of brief drizzle.
