Li Jianrou, a short-track speed skating medalist in the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics, meets penguins at Shanghai Haichang Ocean Park.

About 10 penguins will be born at Shanghai Haichang Ocean Park in the Pudong New Area in December and Li Jianrou, a short-track speed skating medalist in the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics and the park's first "penguin observer," will be there.

November is the breeding season of penguins and about 10 penguin eggs have been laid at the park. They will be the first penguins hatched at the park.

A science class on penguins was held over the weekend and Li shared her Winter Olympics stories during the event.

A 10-meter-high Christmas tree inside the park was lit up over the weekend, marking the start of the park's polar ice and snow festival. 

An immersive art exhibition with the theme of the oceans and environmental protection was also unveiled at the park over the weekend.
