The Shenzhen subsidiary of Folli Follie was fined 13,170 yuan (US$1,873) with illegal profit confiscated by the Jing'an District Administration for Market Regulation.

T-shirt samples of Folli Follie sold at the Westgate Mall in Jing'an failed to meet China's technical standards related to infant and children's textile product safety, according to the administration.

Six substandard T-shirts had been sold, and the remaining 21 unsold pieces had been taken off shelves and returned to their manufacturer, the administration said.

The Zhangyang Road outlet of milk tea brand Nayuki in the Pudong New Area was fined 1,000 yuan by the Pudong New Area Administration for Market Regulation for violations of China's price law.

It charged a consumer 32 yuan for a cheese strawberry beverage although the price was shown at 28 yuan, according to the administration.

An employee of the shop said the price was mistakenly added to the price list, according to the administration.

The Yongde Road outlet of Italian-style fast food restaurant chain Saizeriya in Minhang District was fined 50,000 yuan by the district food watchdog after a salad sample was found to contain excessive bacterial colonies in July.

The restaurant's illegal gains were also confiscated by the Minhang District Administration for Market Regulation.

The Qibao outlet of Carrefour in Minhang was fined 10,000 yuan by the administration after chives sold at the supermarket were found to contain excessive cadmium. Long-term intake of cadmium can lead to kidney and bone damage.
