Authorities from the city of Jiangshan, in neighboring Zhejiang Province, have stepped up culture and tourism cooperation with Shanghai through new agreements and incentives.

A "red culture" musical drama dedicated to the 70-year anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, a highlight of Jiangshan's latest cultural program, was introduced during a promotion event hosted by the Jiangshan City People's Government.

Performed by some 200 local farmers, the drama was staged at Dachen Village in Jiangshan.

He Zhengfang, vice mayor of the city, released incentives targeting Shanghai group travelers during the event. These included discounts on accommodation and ticket prices at local attractions. Travel agencies in Jiangshan also signed cooperation agreements with their Shanghai counterparts.

Jiangshan is home to Jianglang Mountain, a World Natural Heritage site listed by UNESCO in 2010. The mountain is a typical Danxia landform, characterized by steep cliffs similar to karst topography.

It is also home to three ancient towns, namely Jianglangshan, Qingyang and Nianbadu.
