Disneyland changing prices next year

Shanghai Disneyland is changing its admission price structure next year, it announced on Friday.

From June 6, Shanghai Disney Resort will replace its current three-tier structure with four tiers — regular, regular plus, peak and peak plus.

The regular price will remain at 399 yuan (US$57), covering most of winter and autumn.

Regular plus will cost 499 yuan and cover most of spring and selected weekends.

Peak admission, covering most of the summer season, selected holiday periods and selected weekends, will be 599 yuan.

Peak plus prices, at 699 yuan, mostly encompass statutory Chinese holiday periods and selected internationally recognized celebrations.

From May 6 next year, a calendar showing how the new prices will apply for the 90-day period after June 6 will be available on Shanghai Disney Resort’s official platforms.

Discounts of around 25 percent will continue to apply to children, the elderly and people with disabilities. Infants will continue to be admitted free.

Current prices will apply until June 5 next year. Currently, regular tickets are 399 yuan. Peak tickets, covering summer holidays, weekends and many designated holidays, are 575 yuan. Holiday peak prices, covering selected days of the Chinese New Year holiday and China National Day holidays, are 665 yuan.

Shanghai Disney Resort said the new pricing structure will allow a more event spread of visits throughout the year and give people more options. 

Shanghai Disneyland remains the cheapest of all Disneylands throughout the world, it said. Shanghai's lowest price is 399 yuan, while it is 436 yuan in Paris, 488 yuan in Tokyo, 575 yuan in Paris, 730 yuan in California and 765 yuan in Orlando.
