The Oriental Pearl TV Tower in the Pudong New Area kicked off a carnival at its outdoor ice rink on Sunday with a number of Winter Olympic sports on show.
The 84-day event will run through February 29 at the 600-square-meter outdoor rink.
Figure-skating, short-track speeding skating, ice hockey and ice dance will be performed during the carnival.
The event is a celebration of the Beijing Winter Olympics in 2022, and show the fun of ice sports, said Yang Yang, World Anti-Doping Agency vice president and former Winter Olympic champion.
