Health checks in the community
The first batch of 85 community health centers are now in use, allowing local residents to receive convenient self health checkups, health management and education.
The centers are in communities, industrial zones, office buildings, elderly service centers and sports centers.
With their identity cards or social insurance cards, residents can choose to receive 11 health checks and 11 physical tests such as blood pressure, pulse, vital capacity and gripping power as well as 15 self-evaluation tables.
Health and sports guidance based on the checks and tests can be given and a personal database automatically set up. Residents can go to general physicians at the neighborhood health centers for further diagnosis and treatment based on results and enjoy preferential registration service.
By 2021, each subdistrict will have at least one health center, the Shanghai Health Commission said.
