New service industry model zone established
The service industry innovation and development model zone is unveiled.
A service industry innovation and development model zone has been established in Yangpu District.
The model zone, located in the Great Knowledge and Innovation Community, an innovation and start-up park, and covering 6 square kilometers, gathers more than 3,100 enterprises from three pillar industries of information services, intelligent medical treatment services and design services. It was unveiled on Wednesday.
The zone is surrounded by universities and scientific research institutions. It will connect government authorities, enterprises and universities, and upgrade the leading industry public service platform. The goal of the project is to create a leading zone of service industry innovation and development in Shanghai.
The zone is expected to drive the "cluster development" and high-quality development of the city's service industry, said Qiu Wenjin, deputy director of the Shanghai Development and Reform Commission.
