Thousands participate in unhealthy habit survey
Some 5,000 residents have participated in a survey of unhealthy lifestyle habits and left comments, local health authorities said on Wednesday.
Authorities launched the survey on December 18 to ask residents about their smoking, dieting and eating habits in order to help introduce targeted education campaigns based on the results in the future.
According to the World Health Organization, about two-thirds of illnesses are caused by unhealthy lifestyle choices like smoking, inactivity and poor diet. Many illnesses also can be controlled and treated through lifestyle changes.
Local residents can still participate in the survey online and offline until December 31.
A total of 20 participants will win free health checkup coupons at leading public hospitals through a lucky draw, authorities said.
