Sweet smell of success for TCM
Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine signed a memorandum of understanding for strategic cooperation with the International Federation of Professional Aromatherapists on Friday.
Xu Jianguang, president of the university, and Julie Foster, vice chair of the IFPA, signed the MOU while Xu was also made the first honorary principal of the IFPA school.
Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, established 63 years ago, has been a leading institution in modernization and internationalization of traditional Chinese medicine.
The IFPA, established in 2002, is the largest professional organization for aromatherapists and is interested in combining traditional aromatherapy with traditional Chinese medicine.
Under the MOU, the university and the organization will establish technical standards for TCM aromatherapy and bases for education and innovation in traditional medicine, carrying out research into natural medicine.
