Mediation center launched to resolve TV, film copyright disputes

The Shanghai Film and TV Copyright Disputes Mediation Center was launched on Monday as a collaboration between the Shanghai Film and Television Copyright Services Center and Shanghai Intellectual Property Court.

The center will engage in the mediation and resolution of the film and TV copyright disputes. It is expected to support the sustainable and healthy development of the domestic media industry.

According to Yu Zhiqing, director of the center, copyright disputes are on the increase with the rapid development of China’s film and TV market. 

Professionals in the fields of film, television and intellectual property rights will form the center's mediation team.

The center's WeChat public account will also publish regular columns to raise public awareness of copyright protection.
