Travel operators upgrade refund policies

Travel operators have changed their refund policies on Thursday following the coronavirus outbreak in Wuhan.

Alibaba's online travel unit Fliggy is offering a full and free refunds on all group and individual tours booked on the platform with a departure time through February 8.

The offer also covers hotels, tourist attraction tickets, car rental, cruise tours and overseas tour packages with no location limit.

Online travel operator Mafengwo has extended its free refund offer on hotel, tourist attraction tickets and amusement program orders in Wuhan to February 8 from the original January 31.

Trip.com said there was an increase in refund applications from tourists to other places than Wuhan, and it called on 800,000 hotels nationwide to enable free refunds.
