All the luxury cruise liners operating in Shanghai suspended operations on Sunday, offering refunds or rescheduling, due to the coronavirus outbreak.

The Spectrum of the Seas with Royal Caribbean, Costa Atlantica, Costa Venezia, MSC Splendida and Piano Land with Astro Ocean Cruise have cancelled their departures from the International Cruise Terminal in Baoshan District.

"The decision was made to fully coordinate with disease prevention and ensure the health and safety of passengers and crews," the Royal Caribbean said in a statement.

Passengers can either get a full refund or change to other voyages between July 1, 2020 and May 31, 2021. Those who reschedule will receive a coupon of US$100 for each cabin.

Costa Cruises has suspended all operations from China until February 4, including the Costa Atlantica scheduled to depart Shanghai on Monday and the Costa Venezia on February 2.

Operations at other major Chinese ports have also been halted, including trips from Tianjin, Sanya and Shenzhen.
