Shanghai reports 10 new coronavirus cases, including 7-month-old baby

Shanghai reported 10 new coronavirus cases, raising the total number to 203. A 7-month-old baby who was exposed to a confirmed patient from Hubei Province is among the newly diagnosed cases, the Shanghai Health Commission said on Monday.

Meanwhile, another 39 suspected cases were ruled out as of midday Monday.

Among the newly diagnosed patients, three are from Hubei Province’s capital city, Wuhan, the heart of the current coronavirus outbreak; and seven are Shanghai residents. Two each live in Xuhui and Putuo districts, plus one each in Pudong New Area and Changning and Minhang districts.

Among all confirmed infections in Shanghai, 79 are from outside the city, including 57 from Wuhan, 20 are from other cities in Hubei, and one each from Anhui and Heilongjiang provinces.

Currently, 179 patients are stable, six are in a serious condition and seven are critical. Ten patients have been discharged from hospital upon recovery, and there has been one fatality. Another 180 suspected cases are undergoing tests.
