Medical robots deliver meal and drug, do disinfection in hospitals

Two robots have started to work at the fever clinic and quarantine wards at Xinhua Hospital to transport drug and meals for patients and do disinfection.

One robot is responsible for drug and meal delivery. The operation can protect both patients and medical staff and reduce cross infection, the hospital said.

Another robot can spray disinfectant gas, which can harm working staff’s respiratory channel. So the robot can carry out thorough disinfection while protecting staff’s safety.

“Medical robots are playing an important role in hospital operation by protecting both staff and patients,” said Qian Rong, director of Xinhua’s hospital infection control office.
