A project to build an international film and TV center for the Yangtze River Delta region was launched in Shanghai on Friday.

A collaboration between Huace Group and the Shanghai government, the center in Songjiang District, covering 77 mu (5 hectares), will be a strong boost for China’s flourishing movie industry.

It will also propel the city’s construction of the Shanghai High-Tech Film and Television City in Songjiang.

The center will strengthen strategic cooperation among major film and TV production bases in the Yangtze River Delta to develop a culture, science and technology, entertainment and tourism industry network.

The center is expected to be an agglomeration of high-tech film companies and studios, and a platform for international cultural exchanges.

Huace Group has produced many popular films and TV series, including “The Assassin,” “Love O2O” and “Go Go Squid!” Some of its productions have been broadcast overseas.
