European mayors among Shanghai well-wishers

Leaders from around Europe, including city mayors, have sent letters and videos of support to Shanghai and the Shanghai people during the novel coronavirus outbreak.

Joe Anderson, Mayor of Liverpool, England said he understands how much of a “devastating" impact COVID-19 is having on people in Shanghai and all across China. “I hope the virus can be defeated very, very quickly.”

"We hope all the patients get well soon,” Peter Tschentscher, mayor of Hamburg, Germany said. “We are cheering on all of your medical staff.”

CLLR. John Sheehan, the Mayor of Cork, Ireland, expressed his belief in the Shanghai people. "I’m certain that the resilience of the Shanghai people will allow them to persevere through this challenging time,” he said.
