A man and a woman have been caught for stealing parcels delivered to other people, police said on Thursday.

Police officers of Ganquan Road Police Station in Putuo District launched an investigation after receiving a report on February 27.

A man surnamed Lu said he had bought a food processor for a woman surnamed Gu who lives in a residential complex on Pingli Road. Gu said she hadn’t received it although records showed it had been delivered.

The couple was soon identified as major suspects, and police found they had also stolen parcels in Baoshan and Jing’an districts.

The two were caught on March 3 at a residential complex in Putuo District, and are said to have confessed.

Apart from the food processor, they also stole an oven and a pot, police said.
