Passengers on Frankfurt flight to Shanghai had fever

Four passengers with a fever and two others who had been taking cold medicine on a flight from Frankfurt to Shanghai were sent to designated medical institutions for screening and treatment after their arrival.

The city's coronavirus disease prevention and control headquarters said flight CA936 from Germany had arrived at Pudong International Airport at noon on Friday.

There were 17 crew members and 286 passengers on the flight, including six babies.

After onboard checks by customs officers, four were found with a fever while another two told them they had cold medicine within 14 hours during health declaration.

Ambulances take six passengers and four companions to designated hospitals for checks. 

The six passengers, all Chinese, and four companions completed their entry procedures on the airport apron and were sent to designated medical institutions by ambulances waiting outside the aircraft.

Another 30 passengers on the flight were delivered to quarantine sites for medical observation.

Passengers who had been found to have a fever leave the plane before heading to waiting ambulances. 

The rest 246 passengers all received tough entry checks. Except for those transfering to other flights and being picked up by other provinces, people who will stay in the city have been all arranged with homebound or concentrated isolation.

Thirteen crew members who had direct contact with passengers have also be kept in quarantine.

On Thursday, the coronavirus disease prevention and control headquarters announced that starting Friday, all Chinese and foreigners who had lived or been to South Korea, Italy, Iran, Japan, France, Spain, Germany, America in two weeks should have 14-day homebound or concentrated isolation.

The headquarters asked everyone entering or exiting the country to declare the health condition honestly. Those who conceal or make false statement on the health declaration and caused the spreading of virus shall bear the legal responsibility.
