As life in Shanghai returns to normal, 69 of its A-level tourist attractions, or 66.3 percent of the total, have reopened, Shanghai's tourism authorities said on Monday.

All the 5A (China's top grade) national tourist attractions in the city — the Oriental Pearl TV Tower, Shanghai Wild Animal Park and Shanghai Science and Technology Museum — have reopened, the city’s Cultural and Tourism Administration said.

In total, 61.5 percent of 5A and 4A scenic spots in the city have reopened, and 60.4 percent of 3A attractions, the administration said.

All A-level attractions in Jing'an, Changning, Putuo and Yangpu districts have resumed operation, it said.

Among the 4A tourist attractions now open are Fengjing ancient town, Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum, Shanghai Museum, Guyi Garden, Century Park, Shanghai Tower, Jin Mao Tower, Xujiahuiyuan, Sheshan National Forest Park, Nanxiang scenic area, Jinshanzui Fishing Village, Paotaiwan Wetland Park, Dongtan Wetland Park, China Maritime Museum, Jinshan City Beach, Zhouqiao old street, and Shanghai Daguanyuan Garden, the fictional residence of the family in the classic "A Dream of Red Mansions.”

The 3A scenic spots now open include the Hanxiang Water Garden, Shanghai Songze Archeological Site Museum, Minhang Sports Park, Laowaijie, or Foreigner Street, the M50 art hub and Luxun Park.

Shanghai Wild Animal Park, a 5A tourist attraction in the Pudong New Area, reopened on Monday.

It is limiting visitors to half of its capacity — 75,000 a day and just 48,000 at any one time.

Buying tickets online is recommended, and tourists are required to have their temperatures checked and present their health QR code for entry.

Visitors are also reminded to keep a distance of at least 1.5 meters from each other during queuing and sightseeing. Amusement facilities inside the park remain closed.

Transportation means inside the park are disinfected after each use.

Shanghai Happy Valley, an amusement park in Songjiang District, will reopen on March 20.

Tickets will be sold online and visitor numbers limited to 40,332, or less than half of capacity.

Sticks on the ground remind tourists to keep 1.5 meters apart when having their temperature measured, health QR code checked and information registered.

A quarantine area has been set up at the entrance in case suspected cases are found.

Ticket vending machines to give visitors a queuing number will be imposed for popular items like roller coasters to prevent crowds gathering.

Disinfection of amusement facilities, public facilities and electronic touch screens will be carried out after upon each use, and garbage bins for used masks have been set up.

Indoor amusement facilities inside the park will not be open, and there will be no parades. Shops and restaurants will also remain closed. 

Meanwhile, coscoroba swan introduced late last year at Shanghai Zoo in Changning District were available to visitors on Monday.

Pujiang Countryside Park in Minhang District has also reopened.
