Subsidies for companies that helped city
Shanghai is to provide one-off subsidies for key enterprises that supported the city’s efforts to contain the novel coronavirus during the extended Spring Festival holiday and those in industries severely affected by the epidemic, authorities announced on Friday.
Shanghai’s human resources and social security bureau, its commission of economy and information technology and bureau of finance said the subsidies are expected to help enterprises with difficulties and support their return to normal working.
Enterprises with emergency requisition of production capacity during the holiday can apply for 1,500 yuan (US$211) for each employee who worked during the holiday. Each company can only apply once with a maximum of 5 million yuan.
Those from severely affected industries, including accommodation and catering, cultural entertainment, transport and tourism, which have laid off no more than 5.5 percent of their employees last year, can apply for 800-yuan subsidies for each employee. Each company can also apply for once with a maximum of 5 million yuan.
