Seventeen more imported cases were reported in the city on Friday, bringing the total number to 146. Another 16 imported suspected cases are undergoing test, said the Shanghai Health Commission on Saturday.

Five of the imported infections are Chinese students studying overseas: three in the UK, one in the US and one in Switzerland.

The sixth is a Shandong Province native, who worked in the UK. The person left the UK on March 21, arrived at the Shanghai Pudong Airport on March 23 via Cambodia and was put under quarantine upon arrival.

The seventh is a Canadian, who left Canada on March 23, arrived at the Pudong airport the next day via Taipei and was sent to a hospital upon arrival for showing symptoms.

The eighth is a Liaoning Province native, who worked in France. The person left France on March 24, arrived at the Pudong airport the next day and was sent to a hospital upon arrival for showing symptoms.

The ninth is a Fujian Province native, who lived in France. The person left France on March 24, arrived at the Pudong airport the next day and was sent to a hospital upon arrival for showing symptoms.

The 10th is a Spanish, who made a business trip in Singapore. The person left Singapore on March 24, arrived at the Pudong airport the same day and was sent to a hospital upon arrival for showing symptoms.

The 11th and 12th cases are a Shanghai woman and her son, a French national, both living in France. They left France on March 24, arrived at the Pudong airport the next day and were sent to a hospital upon arrival for showing symptoms.

The 13th and 14th cases are a mother and a son, both Zhejiang Province natives who lived in Italy. They left Italy on March 23, arrived at the Pudong airport the next day via Germany and were put under quarantine upon arrival.

The 15th is a Shanghai native, who traveled in France. The person left France on March 13, arrived at the Pudong airport on March 19 via Japan and was put under quarantine upon arrival.

The 16th is a British national, who left the UK on March 20, arrived at the Pudong airport the next day via Hong Kong and was put under quarantine upon arrival.

The 17th is a French national, who left France on March 14, arrived at the Pudong airport the next day via Finland and was put under quarantine upon arrival.

All the 17 patients have been transferred to the designated hospital for treatment and their 88 close contacts on the planes were tracked and put under quarantine and observation.

No local confirmed cases or suspected cases were reported on Friday. The city has reported 339 local cases.

Three imported patients, one from the UK, one from Italy and one from Portugal, were discharged upon recovery on Friday. So far, 146 people including 139 imported cases are hospitalized for treatment. Authorities listed 137 in stable condition, three seriously sick and six critical.

A total of 334 patients have been discharged upon recovery, and there have been five local fatalities so far.
