6 more imported coronavirus cases reported in city

Currently, Shanghai has 159 confirmed imported cases, with 152 being treated in hospital, including two in serious condition and one critical.

Six new imported cases have been reported in the city, bringing the total number of imported cases to 159, said the Shanghai Health Commission on Monday morning.

Another 19 imported suspected cases are undergoing test, said the commission.

Among the newly diagnosed cases, four are Chinese students studying abroad, three in the UK and on in the US.

The fifth case is a Jiangsu Province native, who visited America. The patient left the US on March 26, arrived at the Shanghai Pudong International Airport the next day and was put under quarantine upon arrival.

The sixth case is an Anhui Province native, who lived in the UK. The patient left the UK on March 24, arrived at the Shanghai Pudong International Airport the same day and was put under quarantine upon arrival.

All the six patients have been transferred to a designated hospital for treatment and their 26 close contacts have been tracked and put under quarantine and medical observation.

There were no local cases or suspected cases reported in the latest 24 hours.

Among the 339 local cases, 327 have been discharged upon recovery and seven are still hospitalized for treatment, including six in critical condition. There have been five local fatalities so far.
