More than 50,000 employment opportunities are available on an online job fair which was launched on Monday for graduates of universities in Shanghai this year.

The online event is being organized by the city’s education and human resources authorities to avoid physical gathering during the coronavirus epidemic.

According to the Shanghai Education Commission, the fair has brought together resources from job markets in the Yangtze River Delta region, gathering 3,062 employers from 25 cities and covering 14 industries. Employers include top companies such as China Mobile, Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China Ltd, Jiangnan Shipyard, Shanghai Construction Group, SAIC Motor, iFlytek, Apple, LV and Accenture.

The jobs are divided into more than 40 categories, such as banking, engineering, design, educational training, environment protection and biomedicine.

There are also special sections set up for state-owned enterprises, talent associations, the Pudong New Area, free trade zone, the business chamber of Zhejiang Province and the education industry.

Students can register on the website of the fair (https://applyoffer.com/) to develop their own resumes and submit them to targeted employers.

By 11am, a total of 23,185 resumes have been submitted to employers.

Experts from the city's student affairs center, the human resource departments of enterprises and career service centers at universities are available to provide online consultation for students. There will be special services for students from Hubei Province and those from ethnic minorities to consult on career planning and employment policies.

The education commission said the platform will run year-round to serve students.
