A new parking and charging site for electric taxis was launched at the Hongqiao airport on Wednesday as a demonstration to promote green energy vehicles.
The new site near the north square of the T2 terminal has 20 parking spaces with charging equipment for electric taxis. Drivers can park and charge their cars at the site using a WeChat app.
Once finished charging at the site, drivers can pick up passengers at the terminal building directly without queuing behind other taxis.
The 380 volt rapid charging poles can fully charge an electric car from empty in just over 30 minutes.
