Shanghai medical experts video-chat with overseas Chinese on COVID-19
Shanghai medical experts on Thursday held a video chat with overseas Chinese and students studying in Britain and South Africa, answering their questions on battling coronavirus.
Zhang Wenhong, who heads a Shanghai medical team to fight the COVID-19 epidemic, said positive test results after cures are not clinical significance and will not lead to a large-scale outbreak.
"So far no cases have been found infected by patients who test positive again after being discharged from hospital," Zhang said. "Because the virus was 'dead.'"
Zhang also noted that behavioral habits largely determine how effective personal protection will be.
Xie Bin, a psychologist with the Shanghai Mental Health Center, suggested overseas students enrich their stay-at-home life to avoid anxiety and try to seek professional assistance from online psychological counseling if they feel anxious.
"Everyone is on the same train heading toward the final stop of the pandemic," Xie said. "Please sit tight and have faith in the 'train crew' — medics and experts worldwide, who will drive the train safely to the destination."
