A total of 52 new imported cases of novel coronavirus were reported in the city on Saturday, making the imported cases hit 268. Among the new cases, 51 are Chinese taking on the same flight from Russia, said the Shanghai Health Commission on Sunday morning.

The 51 patients arrived at the Shanghai Pudong International Airport on Friday and were sent to hospitals for showing symptoms upon arrival.

All the 52 cases have been transferred to the designated hospital for quarantine and treatment. Their 92 close contacts on the same flight have been tracked down and put under quarantine and observation, the commission said.

Meanwhile, three imported cases — two from the UK and one from the US — were discharged from hospital upon recovery on Saturday.

So far, of all the 268 imported cases, 110 have been discharged upon recovery and 158 are hospitalized, including one in critical condition.

Another 45 imported suspected cases are undergoing test.

No new locally transmitted cases or suspected cases were reported on Saturday.

Among the 339 local cases, 328 have been discharged upon recovery and four are hospitalized, two are seriously sick and two in critical condition. There have been so far seven local fatalities.
