7 new imported cases reported in Shanghai

Seven new imported novel coronavirus cases including three Chinese passenger on the same flight from Russia were reported infection on Saturday, said the Shanghai Health Commission on Sunday morning.

Another four patients are two Chinese studying in the UK and two Chinese living in the US, the commission said.

All the newly diagnosed patients have been sent to designated hospital for treatment, and their 97 close contacts on the airplanes have been put under quarantine and observation.

Meanwhile, four imported cases, two from the US, one from the UK and one from Russia, were released upon recovery on Saturday.

So far, of all the 296 imported cases, 185 have been discharged upon recovery and 111 are hospitalized, including one in critical condition.

Another 19 imported suspected cases were undergoing test.

No new locally transmitted cases or suspected cases were reported on Saturday, when a local case, who was in critical condition, was discharged upon recovery.

Of the 339 local cases, 331 have been discharged upon recovery and one being hospitalized is in serious condition. There have been so far seven local fatalities.

No asymptomatic infection cases are undergoing medical observation right now, the health commission said.
