Enterprises in Jiading go online at festival

Five Jiading enterprises joined a cloud, or online, market at Shanghai Citizen Culture Festival.

Shanghai Juntao Culture and Innovation Development Co Ltd brought traditional cloth products from Anting Town.

Anting yaoban cloth, a dying technique invented more than 800 years ago, takes around a week with 20 processes to make.

Hu Sufeng, founder of the company, simplified the process so more people could discover this intangible cultural heritage.

Shanghai Huacha Culture Development Co Ltd, based in Jiangqiao Town, has developed 10 video lessons to promote intangible cultural heritage. “Apart from live and recorded lessons, we would like to promote it with cartoons and animations in the future,” Hu Xin, founder of the company, said.
