Local medical experts are offering tips for coronavirus prevention and control before the arrival of the five-day Labor Day holiday starting from Friday.

Experts say masks are a must when going to crowded places like shopping centers and supermarkets. Shoppers should also keep their distance from each other. Experts further urge people to avoid gathering in places with poor ventilation.

For spring outings, experts from the Shanghai Health Promotion Center encourage trips in private cars. On public transportation, travelers are required to wear masks.

In tourist spots, people should avoid touching public items, wear masks in crowded indoor areas and carry a clean paper bag to store masks when removing them.

Take-away food orders are also encouraged at tourist sites.
