2 imported COVID-19 cases reported in Shanghai
Two new imported novel coronavirus cases were reported on Sunday in the city, said the Shanghai Health Commission on Monday morning.
The newly diagnosed patients are both Chinese, one studying in the United Arab Emirates and the other visiting family there. They arrived at the Shanghai Pudong International Airport on May 2.
Both have been transferred to the designated hospital and all the 46 close contacts on the same plane have been tracked down for quarantine and observation.
Meanwhile, two imported cases were discharged from the hospital upon recovery on Sunday.
So far, of all the 316 imported cases, 283 have been discharged upon recovery and 33 are still hospitalized, including two in critical condition.
Another three imported suspected cases are undergoing test.
No new locally transmitted cases or suspected cases were reported on Sunday.
Of all the 339 local cases, 332 have been discharged upon recovery. There have been so far seven local fatalities.
No asymptomatic infection cases are undergoing medical observation now, the health commission said.
