1 imported COVID-19 case reported in Shanghai

One new imported novel coronavirus case was confirmed on Monday, when four imported patients including three from Russia and one from the US were discharged from hospital upon recovery, said the Shanghai Health Commission on Tuesday morning.

The newly diagnosed patient is a Chinese studying in the US who arrived at the Shanghai Pudong International Airport on April 28.

The person has been transferred to the designated hospital and all the 45 close contacts on the same plane have been tracked down for quarantine and observation.

So far, of all the 317 imported cases, 287 have been discharged upon recovery and 30 are still hospitalized, including two in critical condition.

Another one imported suspected case is undergoing test.

No new locally transmitted cases or suspected cases were reported on Monday.

Of all the 339 local cases, 332 have been discharged upon recovery. There have been so far seven local fatalities.

No asymptomatic infection cases are undergoing medical observation now, the health commission said.
