Acting vice mayor Gong meets Huawei chief

Shanghai’s acting vice mayor Gong Zheng met Liang Hua, chairman of Chinese tech giant Huawei, on May 7 in Shanghai.

As a leading enterprise in the IT industry, Huawei should join the economic and social development of Shanghai actively and deepen the cooperation with counterparts in the city in the areas of new infrastructure construction, integrated circuits and artificial intelligence, as well as smart city and smart government construction, Gong said.

“We will continue to improve the business environment and provide better service to support the development of all types of enterprises,” he added.

Huawei is willing to deepen cooperation with Shanghai in the construction of 5G network and smart government areas, Liang said.

Wu Qing, vice mayor of Shanghai, also joined the meeting.
