Shanghai Hongkang Hospital has donated some 5,000 packs of herbal tea to medics at Yadong Country People’s Hospital in Shigatse of the Tibet Autonomous Region to support their fight against the novel coronavirus epidemic.

Traditional Chinese medicine has proved beneficial in coronavirus prevention and control, while high-altitude regions like Tibet create complications in the treatment and recovery of lung diseases.

Hongkang Hospital said the donation is meant to support doctors and nurses working on the front line against the coronavirus.

In addition to donations for medics in Tibet, the hospital has also donated some 10,000 herbal tea bags to grassroots officials and volunteers in 280 communities in Shanghai's Putuo District during the epidemic and offered TCM lectures on disease prevention and control among local residents.
