The Longhua Martyr Memorial in Xuhui District is staging a number of events to mark the International Museum Day, falling on Monday.

A drama based on the life of martyr Luo Yinong (1902-1928), who led the third armed uprising of Shanghai workers and was executed at the former site of the memorial, will be presented daily between Monday and Wednesday.

Audiences will follow the cast to different locations in and around the memorial. Webcasts of the show will be hosted as well.

An exhibition paying tribute to heroic figures such as journalist and publisher Zou Taofen (1895-1944) and Chinese writer Rou Shi (1902-1931) kicked off at Xujiahui Metro Station on Monday morning.

The exhibition is designed by the memorial and features a display of artworks, historic photos, artifacts and audio and video content.

The memorial has also released a new video on the past and present of the Longhua Martyrs' Cemetery to mark the day.
