Internet-based medical platform offers nationwide service

An Internet-based hospital offering a nationwide online healthcare platform has been established by Shanghai Tongji Hospital and Shangying Hospital Management Co.

The Shanghai Tongzhougongji Online Hospital Platform is the first independent and comprehensive Internet hospital in Shanghai focusing on Internet-based medical services.

By installing the platform's app, users can complete online registration, receive consultations, fill prescriptions for chronic diseases, make mobile payments and handle other medical services anywhere in China at any time.

The platform provides a new model for online medical service. Previously, the online service local hospitals allowed to offer must be the same with their offline service and the prices for online and offline service must be the same. While the license given to Tongzhougongli has no such limitation, officials from Shangying said.

In the near future, more medical resources and information data will be integrated on the platform and more services will be available, offering a full range of healthcare solutions, officials said.
