One new coronavirus case reported in Shanghai

One new imported coronavirus case was reported in the city on Monday, while four imported patients, three from Japan and one from the UK, were discharged upon recovery, said the Shanghai Health Commission on Tuesday morning.

The newly diagnosed case is a Chinese studying in the UK who arrived at the Shanghai Pudong International Airport on May 23.

The patient has been transferred to the designated hospital for treatment, while 44 close contacts on the same plane have been tracked down and put under quarantine and observation.

So far, of all the 328 imported cases, 320 have been discharged upon recovery and eight are still hospitalized, including one in serious condition.

Another four imported suspected cases are undergoing test.

No new locally transmitted or suspected cases were reported on Monday.

Of all the 341 local cases, 332 have been discharged upon recovery and two are hospitalized for treatment. There have been so far seven local fatalities.

No asymptomatic infection cases are undergoing medical observation now, the health commission said.
