One new imported coronavirus case was reported in the city on Tuesday, while one imported patient from Japan was discharged from hospital upon recovery, said the Shanghai Health Commission on Wednesday morning.

The newly diagnosed case is a Chinese working in Singapore who arrived at the Shanghai Pudong International Airport on May 7.

The person was quarantined for observation upon arrival and was transferred to a hospital after showing symptoms. The case was quarantined for showing infection through CT scan and positive for serum antibody test, although nucleic acid tests kept showing negative.

When Shanghai Center for Disease Control and Prevention conducted another nucleic acid on the patient on May 25, the result was positive.

The patient has been transferred to the designated hospital for treatment, while 56 close contacts on the same plane have been tracked down and put under quarantine and observation.

So far, of all the 329 imported cases, 321 have been discharged upon recovery and eight are still hospitalized.

Another four imported suspected cases are undergoing test.

No new locally transmitted or suspected cases were reported on Tuesday.

Of all the 341 local cases, 332 have been discharged upon recovery and two are hospitalized for treatment. There have been so far seven local fatalities.

No asymptomatic infection cases are undergoing medical observation now, the health commission said.
