One new COVID-19 case reported in Shanghai

A new imported coronavirus case was reported in the city on Wednesday, while two patients, one from the US and the other from China's Hubei Province, were discharged from hospital upon recovery, said the Shanghai Health Commission on Thursday morning.

The newly diagnosed case is a Chinese working in Mexico who arrived at the Shanghai Pudong International Airport on May 24.

The patient has been transferred to the designated hospital for treatment, while six close contacts on the same plane have been tracked down and put under quarantine and observation.

So far, of all the 330 imported cases, 322 have been discharged upon recovery and eight are still hospitalized.

Another four imported suspected cases are undergoing test.

No new locally transmitted or suspected cases were reported on Wednesday.

Of all the 341 local cases, 333 have been discharged upon recovery and one is hospitalized for treatment. There have been so far seven local fatalities.

No asymptomatic infection cases are undergoing medical observation now, the health commission said.
