Lectures focus on heart disease awareness

A 100-day education program was launched during the Oriental Congress of Cardiology, which kicked off on Friday.

Leading medical experts spent two months designing the program to promote health education and enhance public awareness, said Shanghai Medical Association, one congress organizer.

Seven online lectures on topics that include hypertension, diabetes, cholesterol, drug use and healthy lifestyles will be given during the congress to educate the public on cardiovascular disease prevention, treatment and first aid.

They will be broadcast in local hospitals, communities and on public transport and can be seen via the WeChat account of the association's health education center.
