1 imported COVID-19 case reported in Shanghai

One new imported coronavirus case was reported in the city on Sunday, said the Shanghai Health Commission on Monday morning.

The newly diagnosed patient is a Chinese studying in the US who arrived at the Shanghai Pudong International Airport on June 4.

The patient has been transferred to the designated hospital for treatment, while 45 close contacts on the same plane have been tracked down and put under quarantine and observation.

So far, of all the 337 imported cases, 330 have been discharged upon recovery and seven are still hospitalized.

Another three imported suspected cases are undergoing test.

No new locally transmitted or suspected cases were reported on Sunday.

Of all the 341 local cases, 334 have been discharged upon recovery. There have been so far seven local fatalities.

No asymptomatic infection cases are undergoing medical observation now, the health commission said.
