Shanghai’s Party Secretary Li Qiang held talks with Martin Lundstedt, president and CEO of the Volvo Group, through a video conference on June 10.

Li unveiled details of the city’s fight against the COVID-19 pandemic and the development of its economy in the aftermath of the outbreak. He congratulated Volvo for setting up the Asian headquarters of Volvo Construction Equipment in the city.

“We are confident about the future development and great potential of the Chinese market, and we hope Volvo Group will join the 3rd China International Import Expo to be held in November this year,” Li added.

Lundstedt said that Volvo is grateful for the support given by Shanghai in resuming work and in setting up the Asian headquarters of Volvo Construction Equipment. “We will further expand our investment in Shanghai to deepen cooperation in the fields of construction equipment, high-end manufacturing, scientific innovation, purchasing and operation,” he added.
