Shanghai launches market cleaning campaign

Amid an ongoing novel coronavirus epidemic in Beijing, Shanghai has launched a cleaning and disinfection campaign in local wet markets, wholesale markets and large supermarkets starting from Friday, said Shanghai Health Commission.

Routine market cleaning will be also enhanced. Disinfection will be conducted before and after the operation of markets every day and ventilation in markets will be improved as well, officials said.

Training for market officials, sales staff and cleaning staff will be carried out. Residents are instructed to wear masks while visiting markets and wash hand their after returning home.
