One imported novel coronavirus case was reported in the city on Friday, said the Shanghai Health Commission on Saturday morning.

The newly diagnosed case is a Chinese studying in Canada who arrived at the Shanghai Pudong International Airport on June 14.

The patient has been transferred to the designated hospital for treatment, while all close contacts on the same plane with the patient have been tracked down and put under quarantine and observation.

So far, of all the 357 imported cases, 334 have been discharged upon recovery and 23 are still hospitalized.

No imported suspected cases are undergoing test.

No new locally transmitted or suspected cases were reported on Thursday.

Of all the 341 local cases, 334 have been discharged upon recovery. There have been so far seven local fatalities.

No asymptomatic infection cases are undergoing medical observation now, the health commission said.
