Guizhou Province, famous for Moutai liquor, is aiming to attract investment from companies in the Yangtze River Delta region.

The southwest province has hosted an investment promotion meeting in Putuo District inviting Yangtze River Delta companies to jointly develop the education, medical, culture and sports sectors of Guizhou.

More than 300 government and company officials from Shanghai and neighboring Zhejiang, Jiangsu and Anhui provinces attended the meeting.

The companies from Shanghai and the Yangtze River Delta are expected to help establish a complete industrial ecological circle, as well as help improve the employment rate and life quality for Guizhou people, said Hu Zhongxiong, vice governor of the province.

Guizhou has a good quality air rate of 98 percent and nearly 60 percent forest coverage. The climate is comfortable throughout the year, Hu said.

The province has abundant revoluntionary, folk and traditional culture, which has attracted many tourists in recent years. The Zunyi City in Guizhou is known as the site for the Zunyi Meeting, a decisive conference held in 1935 determining the fate of the Communist Party of China and the Red Army during the Long March.

Many industrial parks have been developed across the province with great economic potential and rich mining resources, Hu said.

He noted the digital economy has also been developing rapidly as global Internet giants such as Apple, Huawei and Tencent have established big data storage centers in Guizhou cities.

Ding Zuohong, vice chairman of Shanghai Federation of Industry and Commerce and president of Yuexing Group, said the promotion meeting has enhanced the confidence of Shanghai and Yangtze River Delta companies to invest in Guizhou.

"Guizhou is expected to become an attractive site for Yangtze River Delta companies and entrepreneurs to invest in," said Ding.
